Hi Mike, how nice to hear from you again. One of my regrets about being retired from the Daily News was losing touch with people I'd always enjoyed chatting with.

The "on time" anecdote is funny. When I talked to Yarrow, he showed up late and he insisted on giving me a llllooooonnnnggg detailed explanation of why. It involved his daughter's school and I assured him up front that it was fine. But it was like he was compelled to make an airtight case for why he was late.

I liked their live show back in the day and gather you did, too. A friend who knows more about guitars than I do pointed out that where most folkies of the '60s played a Martin with steel strings, Peter and Paul played the softer strings which gave them a different and quite pleasing sound.

To my wife's chagrin, I like Dylan's standards albums. I think you're right about his own writing. It still feels like a fool's errand to analyze why he does anything, like the random tweets. Did you see Complete Unknown?

It's a little unfortunate Paul (Mc) is still going on the road even though his voice pretty much no longer exists. That takes nothing away from what he's done over the years.

Anyhow, hope you're well.

Cheers,

David
